Weakley County Schools Office

Biggs Danner (Superintendent 1962-1970)
Tom Farmer (Martin Board Member)
Evelyn Pentecost (Supervisor of Instructional Materials)
Elected for two year terms, the eight school board members meet once each month to discuss school problems and accomplishments.  Determining the length of vacations, deciding courses of study, and setting the date for graduation in Weakley County Schools are just a few of the matters that come under the duties of the school board. (1963 Yearbook, Page 9)

One night each month a group of businessmen meet to discuss school affairs.  They are the members of the Board of Education.  They adopt school policies and work with the superintendent to see that they are carried out.  We should be appreciative of the energy they put forth to keep our schools running efficiently. (1964 Yearbook, Page 12)

Meeting once a month, the school board has made may plays during the school year. Though the members of the board are extremely busy, they gladly take time from their various occupations to plan the district’s school program.  They form the vital link between the community and the schools of Weakley County. (1965 Yearbook, Page 16)
Mrs. Evelyn Pentecost works with the teachers of the county in improving teaching methods and educational standards. (1962 Yearbook, Page 12)
